The wrapping paper is tidied away, but the new toy car could keep driving for hours. Before bed, find it a garage together. A short letter can then say goodnight to the children and their new toys.
Where will the digger sleep tonight?
Let your child choose one thing to look at before bed. Then find a place where it will wait until morning: a car in a cardboard garage, a doll under a small blanket or a book beside the bed.
The final letter can mention one lovely part of the day and wish everyone goodnight. Afterwards, carry on with your usual bedtime routine. If your child falls asleep first, read the letter in the morning.
- Choose one thing your child would like to look at before bed.
- Decide together where the toys will rest for the night.
- Keep the final message short, then put the phone away.
